Michael J. Jones, 40, of Oneida has been charged with Aggravated Statutory Rape following a report filed on October 11, 2017 by an anonymous 15-year-old girl and her mother. According to police reports a 15-year-old female and her mother went to the Oneida Police Department on Wednesday October 11, 2017 to report an incident that occurred at the Oneida Family Motel earlier that day. Allegedly, Jones and the female had begun fooling around and doing “things” in the floor at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the victim’s friend’s motel room who she was there to visit. Additionally, the victim did report that Jones touched, kissed, and massaged her in different inappropriate places on her body, and the incident stopped due to a knock on the motel door. Investigator Dustin Burke, Oneida Police Department, interviewed Jones on October 12, in response to the allegations made the prior day. Reports say that Jones did admit to some inappropriate sexual contact with the female. Jones was arrested and transported to the Scott County Justice Center where his bond was set at $50,000. He received a court date of October 18.
